I currently work as a full-time salesman during the day. I have worked for the same company since just after I came home from serving an
LDS mission in Brazil. I have always had a desire to draw, create and express myself, but since that takes talent that I do not possess, nor felt that I could learn, I didn't spend too much time pursuing that venue of expression.
I have always loved great photography, but never had a "decent" camera, that would produce the desired results, until after I met, and married the woman of my dreams, who (reluctantly) allowed me to purchase a relatively cheap, beginners SLR camera.
I subscribed to a few magazines, and taught myself through reading the magazines, and through trial and error. Finally I convinced my wife of the benefits of a digital camera (such as not needing to buy film, or pay to develop pictures that didn't
meet our standards of excellence), and she "let" me get my Nikon D70 (THE best photographic investment I have made so far, although I'm in the process of convincing her that I need to upgrade again).
I enjoy many types of photography from landscape to panoramas to night photography. I am trying to get myself psyched into doing more with portraits as well (when I first go out with people, it still makes me nervous, but everytime I do it,
I am very pleased with the results). I am continually practicing, and learning new techniques, and styles, and trying to "broaden my photographic horizons".
